Season Starts

The long awaited beginning of the season is here !! We start the season off with a leisurely 10 AM departure. For the first time in my career, I am not at the helm, or even on the boat. I am flat on my back in the hospital. But that little set back does not stop the venerable crew of the John Jack, they persevere without me. Captains Rich Benevento, and Tex Kopp are at the wheel. It is a light crowd today Tim Andros,  ( Congratulations on the beautiful baby girl Abigal. She is already a heart breaker)  Tims’ buddy X, & Bill Jetter  our old friend.

The boat set sail on a cloudy morning, bound for the Mohawk. Nothing tough, just an easy break in dive. The conditions on the bottom were typical for spring, about 20 ft. of vis, with temperatures in the low 40s. Everyone on board got in a nice relaxing dive. This trip was the first trip my boys Steve, & Nick were officially crew, though they started training last season. I was to be their teacher, but the job has fallen to Captain Rich’s, and Captain Bill’s able hands,. They will whip them into shape,  in no time. No matter how much it hurts them !!! The one tanker got back in before 3 PM. A good day of diving on the Jersey shore. Now that we got the ice- breaker over. We will start to run two tank trips. Remember, this is always hot coffee& tea waiting for you in our warm, heated galley. Two tank trips will also feature lunch provided on board. I look forard to seeing you all out on the water this season.
