Blow Outs
I have often been asked if I will cancel a dive in advance. The answer is NO !! Weather forecasting is an art, not a science. They are often wrong. I have heard “calm winds, seas 2 - 3 Ft. all day” while 6 - 8 footers go skiing across the bow. I have been 40 miles offshore on a perfect day with the forecast calling for “4 - 6 Ft. building to 6 - 8" That is why they call it predicting” the weather not “telling”!! The usual procedure is to load up & see for our selves. There is never a charge for “sticking our nose out” If the weather means we do an inshore dive as opposed to the scheduled offshore one, I charge for the destination we dove, not the one scheduled. If we get to the intended destination and only get one dive in, full fare has been earned. This policy is the same for ALL trips on the John Jack.
No Shows
Any individual or group that books a trip on the John Jack is responsible for the FULL COST of the trip upon reservation. Any no-show at the dock will be charged full fare, regardless of any change in destination, whether or not we leave the dock. Any one who is their own weatherman and decides not to show, will be charged full fare. The boat will leave the dock promptly. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to load your gear.
