It also has a great reputation for introducing divers to the exciting world below the waves and just a few miles from our beaches. The latest brainstorm of the Captain is to give everyone a chance to enjoy a little bit of the "good old days." The John Jack is offering a special deal to any diver who is an active member of a local dive club: a chance to enjoy a day of diving for the incredibly low price of $65.00. This rate is only available on May 19 and 20, and again on June 9 and 10. To take advantage of this offer, contact your local dive club to see if they are participating. If your local dive shop is not participating, have the club president call me and I'll "hook them up." Contact Captain Rich (201-321-6924), book your dive day, pay, then go diving.

Being the owner and Captain of a boat like the John Jack makes me feel like the great and powerful Oz, but without the smoke and mirrors. We don't sail over the rainbow and there are no magic slippers, just good times. The John Jack and its crew don't perform magic; the magic is there in the North Atlantic. The magic lies in the shipwrecks, the dive sites, the reefs, the salty breeze, the glorious sunsets, and in the hearts and souls of the people who ply the ocean's waters. When I'm at sea, I feel special and I want to bring that special feeling to others. The John Jack is just the Magic Carpet Ride to get you there.

Check us out this year and see what the John Jack is all about. Enjoy our upper sun deck, grab a cup of hot coffee, or take a nap in one of our spacious bunks and on the way back from your trip, . Or, enjoy the afternoon sunshine on our rear deck as we steam to our destination.

The John Jack family is proud of the product we bring to the Jersey shore. To our returning customers and friends: Welcome back for the 2012 season. If you haven't been on the John Jack yet, welcome aboard. Try us; you'll like it.

On Saturday, March 17th, the crew eagerly (OK, reluctantly) tackled the always enjoyable (OK, downright nasty) job of cleaning the bilge. For those of you who are not sure what the bilge is, it’s the boat’s basement where the engines live and breathe – and gurgle and crew spill oil, antifreeze, and whatnot. I'm not sure how to describe “whatnot,” but it’s easy to remove from the engine and impossible to remove from your shoes, clothes, and hands. The day began with a dirty bilge, strong soap, clean rags, and a hearty crew; the day ended with a clean bilge, dirty crew, and exhausted rags. There’s more cleaning to be done before the fist customer steps aboard, but the John Jack is close to being ready for the Coast Guard inspection and an exciting 2012 season of diving, fishing, and lobster dinner cruises. Follow our web page and join us for one, some or all of our adventures this year.

The boat is singing the song as it looks at the schedule for the weekend. We start Friday night and our 1st night dive of the season. We always have room, so give me a call. The John Jack, equipped with enough lights to give you a suntan when you're underwater, makes for a great night time dive platform. On Saturday, we sail with ScubaVenture to the Pinta. The Pinta is a favorite of mine so I'm looking forward to getting a dive in. (Yes dive boat Captains know how to dive). Sunday brings Blue Water Divers and Elite Divers on board for the first time this season on the Delaware, a shallow in-shore wreck. We still have room for more divers, so call either shop to reserve your spot. I'll be jumping in again, looking to bag a few lobsters or maybe dig for that elusive special artifact that might be hidden just under that pile of sand. Give me a call and let's have a ball. Come dive the John Jack. See what all the talk is about. A great boat with one of the most highly rated crew diving anywhere.

Sharky's Underwater Expeditions

Join Captain Sharky in August for a truly unique dive adventure.
The John Jack was built to be at sea. Like most boats, the John Jack does not rest easy at the dock. It seems to pull on its mooring lines in the slip as if to say, "Get me out of here." Whenever I am at the marina tending to the many projects that keep the John Jack in service, the boat speaks to me. Always the same mantra, "the ocean, the ocean, I must be on the ocean." True, it's fanciful that a boat could tug on its lines, have a soul, or commune with the captain. That said, the John Jack was built to be at sea.

These feelings guided my decision to introduce fishing to the John Jack menu of activities. Beginning in mid-June, the John Jack will be offering fishing charters. Come one, come all, and enjoy the amenities of the John Jack while you share a day on the ocean with friends.

The John Jack is a one of a kind vessel that offers the very best in diving, fishing, dinner cruises, sightseeing, and parties. Join the John Jack family for a day on the ocean, and see if the boat speaks to you.

The John Jack will sail to one of its favorite dive sites on Saturday June 11: the wreck of the Stolt. Hosting the trip will be the NY Sea Gypsies. The Sea Gypsies are always a pleasure to have aboard because they bring a mixed group of good divers for what always proves to be day of fun. The massive profile of the Stolt, which begins at 60 fsw, has something for divers of all skill levels. Indeed, the Stolt is such a tall wreck, that it has a sunny side and a shaded side. Swim through the well-illuminated superstructure, collect scallops from the sandy bottom, or hunt for lobsters among the ship's innerds.
