This year's Beneath The Sea, March 26 - 28 at the Meadowland Exposition Center, presents a wealth of seminar choices with topics ranging from safety, destination, photography, exploration, conservation, and more. Among the knowledgeable and entertaining speakers will be John Jack crew member and professional photographer Larry Cohen. Photography buffs won't want to miss these seminars!
Newfoundland Adventures:
Speakers: Larry Cohen & Polina Reznikov.
When: Saturday, March 27, 1:00PM
Where: Holiday Inn, Essex Room (Session #3)
Larry and Polina will describe the beautiful but cold waters of Newfoundland. Great visibility and world class diving are not limited to the tropics. They will take you through the history of Bell Island's WWII wrecks and the Iron Ore mine. They also will describe the exileration of diving an iceberg and the surreal experience of diving in a whale graveyard.
---------
The Underwater Photography In The Cold-Water Environment.
Speaker: Larry Cohen.
When: Saturday, March 27, 2:00PM
Where: Holiday Inn, Warren Room (Session #4)
Taking photographs in cold water is more of a challenge than in warm water. Thick, insulated gloves adds task loading to your dive and make camera management more challenging. Larry Cohen, whose cold-water images have been published in many magazines, will show some of his favorite photographs and talk about the techniques that were used to capture these images.
----------------
Big, Bad Little World.
Speakers: Larry Cohen & Erin Boyajian.
When: Sunday, March 28, 11:30AM
Where: Marriott Hotel, Warren Room (Session #4)
The world of smaller creatures is endlessly intriguing. In "Big, Bad, Little World", Larry and Erin will discuss the size, location, habits, and behaviors of small marine animals. This information will help underwater photographers sharpen their underwater eye, improve their chances of getting that great macro photo, and just to have fun observing small creatures. Knowing what you're looking at enhances the entire diving experience!
