There are two kinds of sailors: those who ARE sick, and those who WILL be sick.  People vary tremendously in their sensitivity to motion sickness.  Other factors such as ocean conditions and hydration affect daily sensitivity.  Drinking alcoholic beverages the night before may increase your sensitivity to motion sickness.  Seasickness may be mild, moderate, or severe, and is capable of ruining an otherwise beautiful day on the ocean.  It is a good idea to take some kind of sea sickness medication along with you.  Be aware that many over-the-counter and prescription drugs are NOT to be taken while diving. If you get sick and find it necessary to take sea sickness medication, you should consider skipping the dive that day.   Seasickness Site
